Stéphane Grappelli ( French pronunciation: [stefan ɡʁapɛli]; 26 January 1908 – 1 December 1997) was a French jazz violinist. He is best known as a founder of the Quintette du Hot Club de France with guitarist Django Reinhardt in 1934. It was one of the first all-string jazz bands.
Stéphane Grappelli, né le 26 janvier 1908 à Paris et mort le 1 er décembre 1997 dans la même ville, est un violoniste, pianiste, et jazzman français [1]. Il fait partie des plus grands violonistes de jazz du XX e siècle et créa le « Quintette du Hot Club de France » avec Django Reinhardt .
