Website. www .roedean .co .uk. Roedean School ( / ˈroʊdiːn /) is an independent boarding and day school founded in 1885 in Roedean Village on the outskirts of Brighton, East Sussex, England, and governed by Royal Charter. It is for girls aged 11 to 18.
Founded in 1885 by sisters Penelope, Dorothy and Millicent Lawrence, Roedean School was. originally known as Wimbledon House and based in Kemp Town, Brighton, with 10 pupils. The Founding Vision. It aimed to provide ‘a thorough physical, intellectual and moral’ education with ‘as much liberty as is consistent with safety’.
