3 de may. de 2024 · Pauline Oliveros (born May 30, 1932, Houston, Texas, U.S.—died November 24, 2016, Kingston, New York) was an American composer and performer known for conceiving a unique, meditative, improvisatory approach to music called “ deep listening.”. Oliveros was raised in a family that encouraged involvement with music. At age 10 she was introduced to the accordion by her mother, who was a pianist.

17 de abr. de 2024 · I wish I could claim that I was deeply familiar with Pauline Olivero’s work and the concept of Deep Listening before I walked into this experience, but my knowledge was solely based on Oliveros’s Deep Listening cassette in my partner’s tape collection. 6 I arrived at the first workshop anticipating meditative drones and with a keen interest to learn more.
