James convenció a Ron para que tocara el bajo, la banda Phantom Lord se deshizo, dando lugar a la tercera banda de Hetfield que se llamaría Leather Charm. La única diferencia con la banda anterior era que en Leather Charm, James ya no tocaba la guitarra y Ron ahora tocaba el bajo, mientras Tanner y Mulligan mantenían sus instrumentos iniciales.
