"First Step" is the Faces (3)' debut album, recorded in December 1969 and January 1970 at De Lane Lea Studios, and released on 21 March 1970.The Small Faces had only disbanded the previous year and the record company wanted the band to keep their old name for commercial reasons. The band objected, arguing the personnel changes resulted in a different group altogether.
After the joining of Rod Stewart and Ron Wood in 1969, the band became Faces.In the United States, the first Faces album First Step was credited to Small Faces. Although originally the band split up in March 1969, the classic lineup - minus Ronnie Lane - reunited in 1977 and disbanded again in 1978.
