Laurence Gordon "Corky" Laing (born January 26, 1948) is a Canadian rock drummer, best known as a longtime member of the pioneering American hard rock band Mountain. He and guitarist/vocalist Leslie West were the only members to appear on every album.
2 de sept. de 2020 · The entire course of Corky Laing’s life was changed by a power cut. A little over 50 years ago, in the summer of 1969, the drummer and his band Energy were playing a gig at a beach hut in Nantucket, a small island off the coast of Massachusetts.
16 de oct. de 2022 · Drummer Corky Laing, the last surviving member of 70s behemoths Mountain, is still playing, still recording, with a big network of musicians and contacts built up over 50 years. So after 2019’s The Toledo Sessions, when he got hemmed in by the pandemic, he escaped to Finland where he could continue to record.
Corky Laing is a Canadian drummer, born January 28, 1948, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. His claim to fame is the two, American heavy blues rock bands he played in in the early 70s; Mountain and West, Bruce & Laing. He was vice president of A&R for Polygram Canada / Polygram Group Canada, 1989-1995.
