Arc Angels is a blues rock supergroup formed in Austin, Texas in the early 1990s. The band came together after the death of Stevie Ray Vaughan and was composed of Vaughan’s friends Doyle Bramhall II and Charlie Sexton and two of the band members from Vaughan’s band Double Trouble, drummer Chris Layton and bassist Tommy Shannon.
Archangels (/ ˌ ɑːr k ˈ eɪ n dʒ əl s /) are the second-lowest rank of angel in the Christian hierarchy of angels, put forward by Pseudo-Dionysius the Areopagite in the 5th or 6th century in his book De Coelesti Hierarchia (On the Celestial Hierarchy).
Arc Angels is a musical project of four talented musicians who met in 1992 after the death of their friend Stevie Ray Vaughan. They released one album, Arc Angels, in 1992 and performed on Letterman's show, but disbanded soon after.
