Michael Hamilton Jameson (London 15 October 1924 – 18 August 2004) was a classicist. At the time of his death he was Crossett Professor Emeritus of Humanistic Studies at Stanford University.
This volume assembles fourteen highly influential articles written by Michael H. Jameson over a period of nearly fifty years, edited and updated by the author himself. They represent both the scope and the signature style of Jameson's engagement with the subject of ancient Greek religion.
Michael H. Jameson, the Edward Clark Crossett Professor of Humanistic Studies, Emeritus, and a pioneering expert on Greek history, religion and epigraphy, died Aug. 18 in Stanford Hospital of cancer, after a brief illness. He was 79.
