In Greek mythology, Orpheus (/ ˈ ɔːr f iː ə s, ˈ ɔːr f juː s /; Ancient Greek: Ὀρφεύς, classical pronunciation: [or.pʰeú̯s]) was a Thracian bard, legendary musician and prophet.
