Nicholas deBelleville Katzenbach (January 17, 1922 – May 8, 2012) was an American lawyer who served as United States Attorney General during the Lyndon B. Johnson administration. He previously served as United States Deputy Attorney General under President John F. Kennedy.

24 de oct. de 2022 · President Lyndon B. Johnson appointed Katzenbach Attorney General of the United States on February 11, 1965, and he held the office until October 2, 1966. He also served as Under Secretary of State from 1966 to 1969. Katzenbach died on May 8, 2012 in Skillman, New Jersey.

President Johnson then appointed him undersecretary of state on September 21, 1966. In that capacity, Katzenbach went on fact-finding missions to South Vietnam in 1966 and 1967. He also headed diplomatic trips in Africa, India, and Western and Eastern Europe.
