Cecil Womack was born in 1947 in Cleveland, Ohio, and performed with his older brothers Bobby (1944–2014), Harry (1945–1974), Friendly, and Curtis (born Howard Curtis Womack on 22 October 1942, died 21 May 2017 in a Bluefield, West Virginia hospital of respiratory heart failure), as a gospel group.
On March 9, 1974, Harry Womack was stabbed to death by his girlfriend during a fight while living in Bobby's Los Angeles home. Bobby said later that he received a phone call from his oldest brother Friendly, Jr., who told him of what had happened to Harry.
Singer, Composer, Musician. He received stardom as an American Rhythm and Blues singer during the mid-20th century. He was an original member of the quintet, The Valentinos, singing tenor and playing brass guitar with his brother, Bobby Womack being the lead singer.
