He claims that a supersonic jet flew dangerously close to Gagarin's plane, sending it into a tailspin and plummeting to the ground. The official explanation was disputed by many theories and rumors.
However, Gagarin died five weeks later, when the MiG-15 that he was piloting with flight instructor Vladimir Seryogin crashed near the town of Kirzhach.
