Altered State (2005) is the 16th studio album (18th overall) from the jazz group Yellowjackets, and their third release for the Heads Up International label. The cover image was painted by pop art painter Peter Max .
Altered State also brought us the opportunity to work with other longtime friends. In 1984, Yellowjackets opened in Saratoga Springs, NY for The Pat Metheny Group. It was there that we first heard and became great fans of four sisters who at that time were singing with Pat’s band.
The Yellowjackets celebrated their 30th anniversary in 2011 with the album Timeline for Mack Avenue.
