Sherwin David "Wood" Harris (Chicago, Illinois; 17 de octubre de 1969) es un actor estadounidense. He is one of the stars of the HBO series The Wire (2002), which was recently chosen by Time magazine as one of best TV shows of all time. He is regarded as one of the best actors of his generation. Wood is the younger brother of Steve Harris , star of the ABC legal drama The Practice (1997) .
Early life and education. Harris was born in Chicago, Illinois, the son of seamstress Mattie and bus driver John Henry Harris. [citation needed] He was given the nickname "Wood" by friends in his neighborhood, because "Sherwin" was too difficult for some to pronounce.He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theater Arts from Northern Illinois University (NIU) and a Master of Arts from New York University.
