  2. On my currently computer I am using Chocolatey. But I am thinking about using Winget on my new laptop sense it comes with Windows 11. I heard someone making an outlandish claim that Microsoft messes with 3rd party browsers if you get them from Winget, making it harder to set them as the default. Chocolatey is free but has a Business/Pro version that syncs with the “Programs and Features” list in Windows. The free version can be used to install and update software that was installed by Chocolatey but it will not touch software that it didn’t install.

  6. Chocolatey has been around for a while, so it has a lot more features and available packages ("apps"), but I expect Winget to catch up on the more important features quickly. I only use it from Powershell, but there's no reason a regular user couldn't just use the GUI. I expect to see a few different GUIs for Winget in the near future.
