Our mission here is to save the last remnants of contiguous rainforest in Peru. They are fiercely contested. Land is coveted for agriculture, timber and gold mining. Roads cut habitats and from there the herringbone pattern of clear-cutting eats into the forest.
Wilderness International is a non-profit partner of One Percent for the Planet that aims to protect the last unique wilderness areas forever. It consists of three sister foundations in Germany, Canada and Peru, and works on an international level for wilderness conservation, education and research.
