Wells' The Worlds in War internationally, or simply as War of the Worlds, is a 2005 Japanese-American direct-to-DVD independent science fiction action horror film produced by The Asylum, which premiered on Sci Fi Channel on Tuesday June 28, 2005, and directed by David Michael Latt.

C. Thomas Howell is trying his best, but with a terrific 1950s version and a really solid Spielberg remake both readily available, there is no reason to engage with this Asylum version of War of the Worlds. None. Zero. Hell, you should watch the two seasons of the 80s TV series before even considering this. Just put it out of your mind.
