About the logo. The logo consists of the coat of arms and the University of Cambridge logotype. These two elements must always be reproduced together and form a core element of the visual identity of the University. The University’s Coat of Arms, and by association our logo, represents more than 800 years of excellence.

Multiple additional colleges were founded during the 14th and 15th centuries, and colleges continued to be established during modern times, though there was a 204-year gap between the founding of Sidney Sussex in 1596 and that of Downing in 1800.
