Trainspotting (1996) es el film que hizo mundialmente conocido a Boyle, que basada en el libro homónimo de Irvine Welsh, mostraba todas las miserias y situaciones por las que pasaba un grupo de adictos a la heroína. Teniendo en cuenta las dos décadas que pasaron entre la primera y esta segunda entrega, no podemos más que emocionarnos.

Marigold. Trainspotting byl jako naskakování na rychlík, který nikam nejede. T2 je jako čekání na vlak, který už dávno ujel. Že tuhle marnou nostalgii a zacyklenost film tematizuje jako jeden z hlavních prvků zápletky a nových osudů starých postav, pokládám za polehčující okolnost, ne za vykoupení a kvalitu.
