A traffic model is a mathematical model of real-world traffic, usually, but not restricted to, road traffic. Traffic modeling draws heavily on theoretical foundations like network theory and certain theories from physics like the kinematic wave model.
22 de sept. de 2021 · Typically, researchers evaluate traffic by creating a theoretical model that aims to capture as many aspects of real-life traffic as possible. We can differentiate the existing traffic models into macroscopic, mesoscopic, and microscopic models.
Presents practical applications of traffic theory such as driving behavior, stability analysis, stop-and-go waves, and travel time estimation. Presents the topic in a novel and systematic way by addressing both microscopic and macroscopic models with a focus on traffic instabilities.
1 de ene. de 2010 · This introductory chapter to a book on traffic simulation fundamentals is aimed at setting up a comprehensive framework for simulation as a well-established and grounded OR technique and its specificities when applied to traffic systems; the main approaches to...
Road Traffic Modeling and Management: Using Statistical Monitoring and Deep Learning provides a framework for understanding and enhancing road traffic monitoring and management. The book examines commonly used traffic analysis methodologies as well the emerging methods that use deep learning methods.
