The commercial that seeks to answer the question, “How many licks does it take to get to the Tootsie Roll center of a Tootsie Pop?!” was first shown on television in 1969.

His real name was Paul Wilchen, according to the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. He was a shy kid and had a stutter, which makes it surprising that he discovered ventriloquism.
