This is why, with much regret, we must pass on the devastating knowledge that the founder of AVSIM, Thomas Verne Allensworth, has passed away. We want to send our most heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Thomas, as well as to the entire AVSIM community.
Tom Allensworth, CEO and Publisher of AVSIM, explained that the site used two servers to back-up the site's data, but that the hacker deleted the content of both, destroying the ability to use one server to restore the data of the other.

Tom Allensworth has passed away. Please, keep whatever issues you have with Avsim out of this thread. A man has passed away and respect should be maintained. To All - Tom Allensworth was my uncle. My mother's big brother. We, the family, are all understandably quite shocked at the speed of his passing.

4 de abr. de 2015 · I knew Tom well. He helped me get a job with my current employer, when I retired from the Army. Tom was a great guy and a huge driving force at AVSIM.
