Tolkien Black, formerly known as Token Black[4] and Token Williams, is a male fourth grader at South Park Elementary and is voiced by Adrien Beard. His name was a play on words referring to the trope of the "token black guy" commonly featured on American television shows.

"The Big Fix" is the second episode of the twenty-fifth season of the American animated television series South Park. The 313th episode overall of the series, it premiered on Comedy Central in the United States on February 9, 2022. [1]
Tolkien is a member of the boy's 4th grade class. He is the richest kid in South Park and also one of the only black kids. In one instance, Cartman got arrested and sent to juvie hall after throwing a rock at Tolkien's head. Tolkien is also a very gifted singer and can play a mean bass guitar, (much to the dismay of Cartman's stereotyping).
14 de ene. de 2024 · In season 25, episode 2, South Park changes Token Black's name to Tolkien Black, a meta move that satirizes its own past and challenges racism and performative allyship. The name change is retroactively applied to all previous episodes featuring the character, creating a synthetic Mandela effect.
