This Is England '90 looks at rave culture and the 1990 FIFA World Cup. According to Meadows, it will follow Shaun, Kelly, Trev and Gadget who are involved in the rave scene. Woody and Milky have opened a scooter shop, while Combo is released from prison after serving his sentence for the manslaughter of Mick in This Is England '86.
Even for This Is England’s high tolerance for sadness this was an especially tear soaked series. Over the course of 1990’s four seasons, we watch the gangs age and personal histories begin to reshape the group for the next phases of their lives. In some ways, 90 is about reconciling some of the biggest plot points of the show.
