Quadrophenia is the sixth studio album by the English rock band the Who, released as a double album on 26 October 1973 by Track Records. It is the group's third rock opera, the previous two being the "mini-opera" song "A Quick One, While He's Away" and the album Tommy. Set in London and Brighton in 1965, the story follows a young mod named Jimmy and his search for self-worth and importance.

If it helps anyone, i am a Quadrophenia nut, it's my favourite Album of all time. ... like someone turned up the Treble setting to almost full and it gets tiring after a while. The Who's sixth studio album, a "Rock Opera" that tells the story of a young mod named Jimmy set in London and Brighton in 1965. It was the only Who album to be written in its entirety by Pete Townshend. Mostly recorded at The Kitchen (later Ramport Studios) in Battersea using Ronnie Lane's Mobile Studio, while the studio's control room was being finished, in summer 1973.
