The white-winged guan (Penelope albipennis) is a bird in the chachalaca, guan and curassow family Cracidae. It is endemic to northwestern Peru.

Large, turkey-like bird restricted to dry forests of northwestern Peru. Dark brown overall, with a red wattle, a pink face patch, and white scaling on the breast. Its white wing patches are often hidden when the bird is perched, but flash conspicuously when it takes flight.

22 de ago. de 2018 · Loud calls echo through the dry deciduous forest of northwestern Peru. A peculiar creature with a black body, white primary feathers and a red throat emerges in search of its mate. The animal is the aptly named white-winged guan – thought extinct for nearly a century!
85 cm. Medium-sized, black cracid with white primaries. Whitish flecking on neck, upper breast and wing-coverts. Extensive, bare orange-red or purple throat and double-lobed dewlap.
