The Warden, the novel's villain, owns and runs Camp Green Lake in the Texas desert. She's a tall, red-haired woman who is soft spoken but nasty: she knows that she's the most powerful person at camp and uses this to intimidate anyone who challenges or bothers her, children and adults alike.
Warden Louise Walker (b-1948), is the main antagonist of Holes. She is the granddaughter of Charles "Trout" Walker and Linda Walker . The Warden is shown to have been digging holes as she grows up and does nothing else other than trying to finish the work of looking for the treasure of Kissin' Kate Barlow (Katherine Barlow).
The Warden is the cruel, authoritarian leader of Camp Green Lake, as well as the owner of the land upon which the camp is situated. While Mr. Sir is characterized by his militaristic approach and Mr. Pendanski by his casual meanness, The Warden consistently maintains an icy, polite demeanor.
The Warden reveals why she seems so hardened, cold, and calculated when events concern the boys and finding the suitcase. Her past experiences altered her so severely she has lost contact with reality.
Character Analysis. We get the shivers just thinking about the Warden. This scary lady is a descendent of Trout and Linda Walker, the original owners of Green Lake, and just like them, she's greedy, selfish, and has a one-track mind.

Trout Walker and his wife, Linda Miller (whom the Warden resembles), break into Kissin' Kate's cabin and demand to know where she has hidden all the money that she has stolen. Kate indicates that she has buried the money in the dried-up lakebed.
