He is the deuteragonist of God of War (2018) and one of the two protagonists of God of War Ragnarök along with Kratos . Introduced as the son of Kratos and Faye, Atreus joins his father on a journey to spread his deceased mother's ashes on top of the highest peak in all the Nine Realms.
After defeating Odin and bidding a heartfelt farewell to his son, Kratos discovers a mural depicting him as the new All-Father of Asgard. Finally hopeful about his future, Kratos recruits Freya and Mímir to help him rebuild and restore the Nine Realms.
Kratos ( Ancient Greek: Κράτος, lit. 'strength') is a character and the protagonist of Santa Monica Studio 's God of War series, based on Greek mythology and, later, Norse mythology. He first appeared in the 2005 video game God of War, which led to the development of eight additional titles featuring the character as the protagonist.
