Plot. Following the events of the first film, Max and Duke's owner Katie has married a man named Chuck and had a son, Liam. Max's resentful, then overprotective, feelings for Liam develop into an itch that leads Katie to get him a humiliating dog cone from the veterinarian, but his luck changes when Duke reveals the family is going on a road trip.

The Secret Life of Pets 2: Directed by Chris Renaud, Jonathan del Val. With Patton Oswalt, Kevin Hart, Harrison Ford, Eric Stonestreet. Continuing the story of Max and his pet friends, following their secret lives after their owners leave them for work or school each day.
On a family trip to a farm, Max and mutt Duke (Eric Stonestreet) encounter canine-intolerant cows, hostile foxes and a terrifying turkey, all of which only elevate Max’s anxiety. Luckily, Max gets some guidance from veteran farm dog Rooster (Harrison Ford, making his animated-film debut), who pushes Max to find his inner alpha.
