The Pirates (Korean: 해적: 바다로 간 산적; lit. "Pirates: Bandits Going to the Sea") is a 2014 South Korean period adventure film starring Son Ye-jin and Kim Nam-gil. A standalone sequel, titled The Pirates: The Last Royal Treasure, was released in theaters on January 26, 2022.

“The Pirates” is a 2014 South Korean film directed by Lee Seok Hoon. At the cusp of the founding of Joseon Dynasty, an envoy from China is delivering Emperor’s Ming’s Royal Seal. But nature in the form of a giant whale intervenes and swallows the royal seal.
Sinopsis: Durante la Dinastía Joseon, una ballena gris se tragó el Sello del Estado del Emperador. A la cabeza de la bestia se le pone un precio para recuperar rápidamente la famosa foca. Rápidamente puesto al día, una tropa de piratas decidió ir tras el cetáceo. La caza de ballenas está entonces abierta.
