The End of Evangelion (新世紀エヴァンゲリオン劇場版 Air/まごころを、君に, Shin Seiki Evangerion Gekijō-ban: Air/Magokoro o, Kimi ni?) is the second film in the Neon Genesis Evangelion franchise, and the last anime release for the series until the Rebuild of Evangelion tetralogy.
After watching the rebuilds, I first interpreted the station scene as the real world, but I decided to reread the final chapters of the MANGAS series I understood that it was the final step for shinji to break out of the anti-universe after redefining the world.
The final scene of The End of Evangelion is, to this day, still hotly debated. It is a culmination of the story's themes and narrative in just a few, earth-shattering minutes, with Shinji's attempt to choke Asuka contrasted with her unexpected response.
