Darkadelic is the first and only album by the Damned to feature drummer William Granville-Taylor after he replaced Pinch, who left the band in 2019. [12] For Darkadelic , the Damned teamed up with producer Thomas Mitchener, formerly of the bands Haunts and Spycatcher, because he was, as guitarist Captain Sensible put it, a "purveyor of the '70s sound" they were going for on the album. By the time it peaked at No.36 in April, The Damned had left for their inaugural swing around America, having just toured the UK first as headliners, and then as support to Marc Bolan’s T.Rex.

Evil Spirits (2018) (Image credit: Search and Destroy) In typical Damned fashion, it only took them 41 years to crack the UK Top 10, peaking at number 7, as they did with Evil Spirit s, their 11th and most recent album. Deservedly so given their legacy, although in all honestly, it’s not even close to their best.
