The Creation of Adam (Italian: Creazione di Adamo), also known as The Creation of Man,: plate 54 is a fresco painting by Italian artist Michelangelo, which forms part of the Sistine Chapel's ceiling, painted c. 1508 –1512.

21 de jun. de 2022 · The Creation of Adam (c. 1511 – 1512) Among the many works of art credited to the renowned sculptor, the frescoes on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel was by far his most famous painting. Even more so, the scene depicting the creation of the first man, Adam, alongside a representation of God is considered one of the main attractions of the chapel.
The Creation of Adam shows God giving life to the first man, while Eve, the first woman, watches from beneath his cloak. Detail of God from The Creation of Adam. The Creation of Eve is based on a sculpture in Bologna. The Downfall of Adam and Eve and their Expulsion from the Garden of Eden. Two episodes are combined in a single frame.
The Creation of Adam. 1771. Oil on canvas. Room 089. This is a preparatory oil sketch for one of the eight, now lost, frescoes for the dome of the collegiate church at La Granja de San Ildefonso, Segovia. They depicted the exaltation of the Holy Trinity and the revelation of the existence of God.
