These are the paintings, like The Creation of Adam, where the narratives have been pared down to only the essential figures depicted on a monumental scale.
9 de jun. de 2023 · The Creation of Adam (c. 1511) On the right side, there is a depiction of God, suspended in the air, surrounded by a halo supported by angels and cherubim. On the left side, we see Adam lying down on a meadow, overlooking a grassy slope. Adam, the first human, is in a semi-reclined position, completely naked, with his arm resting on his right knee.
Art: The Creation of Adam. In 1508, Pope Julius II (1444–1513) commissioned Michelangelo to paint a series of ceiling frescos for the Sistine Chapel, a project that became one of the artist’s most celebrated achievements. The nine images that adorn the central axis of the ceiling illustrate important scenes from the Book of Genesis.

The Creation of Adam is a fresco panel by Michelangelo that sits among other scenes from Genesis on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. It is the most famous individual panel within the extraordinary collection on the ceiling and has been derived countless times. Michelangelo portrays a nude Adam as God breathes life into his newly created body.
