The Blob is the titular main antagonist from the 1958 horror film of the same name. Depicted as a red gelatinous amoeba-like space alien that grows bigger by digesting humans and any living thing in its path. In the 1958 film, the gelatinous creature falls to Earth aboard a meteorite, and is unleashed upon humanity when an inquisitive old man pokes at the object with a stick.
