Battersea Power Station is a decommissioned coal-fired power station located on the south bank of the River Thames in Nine Elms, Battersea in the London Borough of Wandsworth. It was built by the London Power Company (LPC) to the design of Leonard Pearce, Engineer in Chief to the LPC, and CS Allott & Son Engineers.
The History. From the 1930s to 1980s, Battersea Power Station was a working Power Station. At its peak, it was producing a fifth of London’s power, supplying electricity to some of London’s most recognisable landmarks, such as the Houses of Parliament and Buckingham Palace. 1929.

The Power Station was the second phase to open to the public on the 14th October 2022. This truly mixed-use building is home to Apple’s London Campus, hundreds of new shops housed in the historic turbines halls, a state-of-the-art dolby cinema, a 24,000 sq ft food hall, a glass chimney lift and hundreds of new homes.
