7 de nov. de 2021 · Sweet potato is known to be a genetically diverse crop, and previous genetic and nematode pathogenesis work on this crop has shown that multiple resistance genes in cultivated sweet potato lines likely confer resistance to different Meloidogyne species and isolates (Cervantes-Flores et al. 2002a, b).
Meloidogyne enterolobii (syn. mayaguensis) is an emergent species of root-knot nematode that has become a serious threat to sweet potato ( Ipomoea batatas) production in the southeastern United States. The most popular sweet potato cultivars grown in this region are highly susceptible to M. enterolobii.

26 de abr. de 2019 · Root-knot nematodes ( Meloidogyne spp.) can reduce sweetpotato yields and quality. Fluensulfone is the active ingredient of the new non-fumigant nematicide Nimitz. Unlike fumigant nematicides, toxicity toward non-target organisms is low, and it does not emit volatile organic compounds which negatively impact air quality.
