The Style Council. English band formed in 1983 in Woking, England by Paul Weller, the former singer, songwriter, and guitarist with the punk rock/new wave/mod revival band The Jam, and keyboardist Mick Talbot. Disbanded in March 1990. The band appears with additional artists as The Council Collective.
