Stephen Richard Hackett (born 12 February 1950) is an English guitarist, songwriter and producer who gained prominence as the lead guitarist of the progressive rock band Genesis from 1971 to 1977. Hackett contributed to six Genesis studio albums, three live albums, seven singles and one EP before he left to pursue a solo career.

Stephen Richard "Steve" Hackett (n. 12 de febrero de 1950, Pimlico, Londres) es un músico británico. Saltó a la fama como guitarrista del grupo de rock progresivo Genesis en los años 1970. Tras su marcha de la banda en 1977, inició una carrera en solitario.
Biography. Steve Hackett is renowned as an immensely talented and innovative rock musician. He was lead guitarist with Genesis as part of their classic line up with Gabriel, Collins, Banks and Rutherford, that produced acclaimed albums such as Selling England by the Pound (a favourite of John Lennon).

Although he's been out of Genesis for well over 47 years, STEVE HACKETT more than any other member of that band has retained the spirit of the progressive rock 70s and has done more as a solo artist to celebrate the prog years of Genesis than that band has ever done for itself.
