This is the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure subreddit, and while the subreddit is named for Part Three: Stardust Crusaders, ... I'm seeing these explanations from other people like the 420 thing which seems valid, but I always liked thinking the jokes intentionally made no sense for the audience but in the universe it actually good.

Jotaro has a STAR icon on one of his most known hat designs, has a JoeSTAR birthmark, has STAR platinum as his stand but a dolphin was chosen over a STARfish. It's because in part 4 his design has two dolphins forming a heart on his clothes. It's also a lot easier to fuck a dolphin than a starfish I guess.
