Designed by Michael and Patty Hopkins soon after the foundation of the practice, Hopkins House is a lightweight steel and glass building and regarded as a key early work. Located in Hampstead, the house was also used as a studio for the first decade of the practice.
Ranging in size from 10 to over 100 students, Smith houses are home to students of all four class years, and introduce residents to people from various socioeconomic, racial, and cultural backgrounds. The Office of Residence Life is here to make Smith feel like your home away from home.

Room draw takes place over one evening in early-mid April from 5 to 10 p.m. Students are assigned a start time on room draw day, at which time their online access becomes active. In late March, students receive an email with their room draw lottery time (and new house assignment, if they requested to change houses).
