  2. The eighth chapter of Daniel features an astounding vision of a male sheep and a male goat. What did this vision represent, and is it relevant for us today? The vision recorded in Daniel 8 came to the prophet in the third year of the reign of King Belshazzar of Babylon (553-554 B.C.).

  3. 26 de may. de 2004 · Daniel’s vision in chapter 8 pertains to the second and third kingdoms of Daniel: Medo-Persia and Greece. In his vision, Daniel is transported to Susa, the capital of Persia, later referred to in the Books of Nehemiah and Esther.

  4. 1.1. Time Frame. While Daniel receives his vision during the time of the Babylonian Empire, the vision itself begins with the Medo-Persian Empire, unlike Daniel 2 and 7. The vision extends to the time of the end (Dan 8:17, 19, 26). Therefore, it parallels Daniel 2 and 7.

  6. The scene of this vision. The place where that was laid was in Shushan the palace, one of the royal seats of the kings of Persia, situated on the banks of the river Ulai, which surrounded the city; it was in the province of Elam, that part of Persia which lay next to Babylon.

  7. In chapter 8, Daniel has another vision about the final two beasts from the previous chapter. This time, they are symbolized by a ram (which we’re told is an image of the empire of the Medes and Persians) and a goat (an image of ancient Greece).
