Shrewsbury High School has established fundamental for a well-educated Shrewsbury High School graduate. To graduate from Shrewsbury High School, a student must complete a minimum of 105 credits. The athletic facilities at Shrewsbury High School are state-of-the-art and include a 150-meter indoor track, gymnastics, dance and aerobics training center, ten basketball hoops and a fully equipped fitness center. Our outdoor track facilities are well maintained and include all necessary practice and game-day fields.
History. Shrewsbury High School opened as a day school for girls in 1885. In 1893 the rising star Ethel Gavin took over as head. The school had outgrown its site and it moved to its present location on the banks of the River Severn in central Shrewsbury in 1895. [citation needed] Gavin moved on to another headship in 1897.The junior department transferred to Kennedy Road in 1959.
