Shortly thereafter, the movie Fast Times at Ridgemont High came out, with Sean Penn’s rocking the shoes and making them famous.

17 de feb. de 2022 · While Spicoli didn't care much for his outward appearance, he could always be seen wearing the Vans checkerboard slip-on shoes. He wore them throughout all of Fast Times, including his first meeting with his rival, Mr. Hand.There was also an instance where he showed up to class with the shoes in his hands, giving audiences a good look at what the soon-to-be-famous character was always wearing.
