  1. Hace 5 días · COVER This optical image of Jupiter’s moon Io was taken by the Juno spacecraft during a flyby in February 2024. The surface is covered by volcanic features, and a plume from the erupting volcano Xihe is visible in the lower right. Isotopic measurements of Io’s tenuous atmosphere show that volcanism on Io has been ongoing for billions of years, potentially since the moon formed.
