Sandy Denny ( Wimbledon, 6 de enero de 1947 - ibídem, 21 de abril de 1978) fue una cantante y compositora inglesa. Cantó en el primer disco de Strawbs y después ingresó en la banda de folk - rock Fairport Convention. Tuvo una notable participación con la banda Led Zeppelin en la canción « The Battle of Evermore », del álbum Led Zeppelin IV .
She has been described as "the pre-eminent British folk rock singer". [1] After briefly working with the Strawbs, Denny joined Fairport Convention in 1968, remaining with them until 1969. She formed the short-lived band Fotheringay in 1970, before focusing on a solo career.
Sandy Denny and the Strawbs is a compilation album of songs by Sandy Denny and Strawbs. The album is a reworking of tapes recorded by the band in Copenhagen in July 1967. Tracks from those recordings were first released on the Pickwick budget label in 1973 under the name All Our Own Work.
