17 de may. de 2023 · Architectural Masterpiece: The Church of Saint-Pierre in Firminy-Vert is one of the last works designed by the renowned Swiss-French architect Le Corbusier, a pioneer of modern architecture. Posthumous Completion: Le Corbusier began work on the church in 1961, but it remained incomplete at the time of his death in 1965.
Saint-Peter's Church. In 1961 Le Corbusier was ordered the conception of a parish church for the new Firminy-Vert neighbourhood. It was its third religious monument after the Chapel in Ronchamp and the La Tourette Convent.

La iglesia de Saint-Pierre en Firminy, (Loira, Francia), es la última gran obra diseñada por Le Corbusier. Concebida inicialmente como iglesia , su construcción dio comienzo póstumamente en 1971 (seis años después de la muerte del arquitecto), pero problemas financieros y políticos obligaron a interrumpir las obras en 1978.

L'église Saint-Pierre. Le Corbusier reçoit en 1961 la commande d’une église paroissiale pour le quartier de Firminy-Vert. Il s’agit de son troisième édifice religieux, après la Chapelle Notre-Dame du Haut à Ronchamp et le Couvent Sainte-Marie de la Tourette.
