Red is a progressive rock album with a noticeably heavier sound than their previous albums; it was later called one of the 50 "heaviest albums of all time" by Q. This was achieved with the performances of just three band members: guitarist Robert Fripp, bassist and vocalist John Wetton and drummer Bill Bruford.
Red es el séptimo álbum de estudio de la banda británica de rock progresivo King Crimson, lanzado el 6 de octubre de 1974 a través de Island Records en el Reino Unido y Atlantic Records en Norteamérica y Japón. El álbum fue grabado en Olympic Studios en Londres en julio y agosto de 1974 y producido por la propia banda.
