21 de sept. de 2022 · The Lockheed Model 18 Lodestar was a twin-engine airliner based on the Super Electra, but with a longer fuselage and more seats. It competed with the DC-3 in the US, but sold well overseas and was used as a military transport, crop duster and skydiving plane.

The R5O Lodestar was a variant of the Lockheed Model 18, a twin-engined, all-metal, twin-tailed transport aircraft. It was used by the USN, USCG and USMC during World War II and was also operated by several airlines and other military forces.
Nearly 100 examples of the R5O, the military variant of the Lockheed Model 18 Lodestar transport, were delivered to the US Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard between 1940 and 1943. A few examples were still in operation as late as 1953.
