Pepé Le Pew is a character in the Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies series. An anthropomorphic French skunk, Pepé is in search of romance, but his scent, self-delusion, and his overly persistent manner inhibit his efforts. Chuck Jones first introduced the character, originally named Stinky, and once called Henry, in the 1945 short "Odor-able Kitty".
